May be created within the Parent "New Folder" and also cannot be renamed thus retaining the New Folder name. Obviously some location is being used to allow any number of "New Folder" to be created and files to be placed there and as a further point sub-folders It certainly seems that this is a problem with how Win10 is identifying folder locations. I applied the above "Fix" editing the registry as indicated appending "-BAD" to 5 Keys with no cure to the issue.
In my case I just added renamed the folders with "-BAD" after the original folder name.If you want you can also search for these strings so you don't have to manually look.Īfter the rename of these folders the issue was instantly resolved. and to a lesser degree this happens with renaming files. Window seems to refresh after a few seconds and when it does it defaults newly created folders to "New Folder" even is you are already in the middle of renaming the folder. that is not the issue, the issue is the explorer we know how to "right click" and choose the "rename" command from the menu. but with my luck this will remain if it retard to Win8.1. I am coming close to removing Win10 for this reason.
